Family Hike and the Solar Eclipse

The kids and I finally went off track from work/school on Thursday (the day we went to Disneyland to celebrate our freedom). Friday I had big plans to take them rock climbing or something fun but my plans didn't work out at all and I was left feeling frustrated. Luckily, we were down by my parent's house and were able to spend some time with them which was probably better anyway. I ended up just taking the kids home, running some errands, and getting a massage because I needed it!

Over the weekend, we were privileged to be able to sit and watch General Conference. The messages are always so uplifting and inspiring. I worked hard to be prepared for a nice, relaxing time at home and we certainly experienced a comfortable respite. 

Sunday afternoon, we needed some fresh air and sunshine. So we went on a little hike in Chino Hills as a family and it was so beautiful and green. The kids loved it and as always, Ray was our little trail runner.

Monday, after Tanner and I had a depressing visit with our tax guy, there was a solar eclipse! Luckily, we scored free glasses from the library when we visited on Saturday. It was really cool and reminded me of when we took Ella home from the hospital when she was born. I took a picture right at 11:11 during the eclipse and I'm hoping that's a good omen for money! That night we had a special MCO rehearsal and it was so beautiful. I can't wait for the concert and I'm so grateful for MCO in our lives!

I'm so glad we are on Spring break. We desperately needed some time away from school/teachers. I can't wait for the girls to move on from the teachers they have right now! Ugh! 3 weeks isn't long enough but we promise to make the most of it!
