O'ahu with O'hana Day 4

Monday we set off on another Shaka adventure. We made a good breakfast, packed up some essentials, and set off on the Grand Oahu tour. We drove by Honolulu and over to our first stop which was a beautiful Japanese temple. We each rang the sacred gong and felt the peacefulness of the place. We learned about the ancient Hawaiians and had a neat stop at the Huilua Fish Pond and then swam at Chinaman’s Hat beach. It was so beautiful! We drove to Laie and played at Pounders Beach and ran into Trianna! Small world! I love running into people! We checked out the arch at Laie Point and then chowed some food at 7 Brothers and ice cream and shave ice at Angel’s. We went to Kawela Beach Park which is near Turtle Bay and had a cool little hike on the way to a very beautiful beach. We lost the car key which wasn’t the worst thing because we were at a gorgeous beach enjoy Hawaiian life at its finest. Luckily, we found it and were on our way to Shark’s Cove for some snorkeling. We didn’t stay long because the sun was going down and getting a little cold so we back tracked a little bit to Ted’s Bakery for some chocolate pie (yum) and then up to the top of Oahu to an ancient sacred temple site, Pu’u o Kahuka Heiau and watched the sunset. We got locked in and had to wait 20 minutes for some local law enforcement to let us out. We drove home in the dark listening to the awesome Shake Guide tell us about the island and the kids fell asleep. A great Oahu adventure day!
