Diamonds, Shopping, and Shelley's Party in the Hollywood Hills

We got home from Hawaii late last night and I didn't even really fall asleep until about 2am. But I set my alarm because I had a date with my mom! We were supposed to go to a bridal shower but I just couldn't muster the strength to get there on time so we ditched that idea and went shopping instead and all I can say is, I have NO REGRETS. I can't even remember the last time I went shopping and I got so many cute things that I needed so badly. My mom is the best shopping partner, too. Back at the house, she gifted me with some very special diamond earrings that Papa gave to Muzzie and Muzzie gave to my mom when she turned 50. Here I am turning 40 so my mom gave them to me and I feel so honored! I don't even want to wear them because they are so special but my mom suggested when I get my wedding ring updated, I use those diamonds and I LOVE that idea.

My Dad came to lunch with us at Nordies and we had such a nice time together. I love and cherish any time I get to spend with them. Of course we topped off with chocolate chip chippers and I was feeling really great!

That night, Tanner went to a super fun party to celebrate Shelley turning 40 at a glorious house in the Hollywood Hills. She had a a taco guy and a heated pool and it could not have been more fabulous. Shelley is so rad and all of her friends were so cool and kind and easy to talk to. She really does surround herself with such stellar people and I'm so glad I was able to be a part of her special night.

Again, it was so nice having a night out with Tanner. Date night's are so important! I can't believe I'm nearing the end of my 30s. My 20's were a grind. My 30's were chaotic. And I know my 40s wont be perfect but I am so looking forward to all that comes my way this decade!
