O'ahu with O'hana Day 7

Thursday had its highs and lows… I woke up with a UTI so first and foremost we drove to a pharmacy in Waikiki to get some medication. Thankfully Dr. Golboo called something in for me and by the end of the day, I felt much better. But since the day didn’t start according to plan, we got a late start on our adventure. It was fun to walk around Waikiki got a bit though!

We finally started the Shaka Guide tour of the eastern shoreline of Oahu and saw some pretty magnificent sights! We drove up and saw a big blowhole and also the beach where they filmed that classic love scene in From Here to Eternity. Ray really wanted to go to the beach so we stopped by Sherwood Forest beach which was voted best beach in America. Parker found a coconut and had a blast cracking it open. Ray and Jack swam happily in the waves until Ray got stung by a man-of-war jellyfish and was in a lot of pain. Ella got stung, too! So we girls were NOT having a good time, health wise.

We drove to a nearby town and got some lunch at Fatboy’s and some delicious shave ice from Island Snow and after that, we all kinda perked up. We found another beach that was very popular and also very windy. Ray was back to her normal, happy self. She shines in the water. It is her happy place among the waves, that’s for sure. Jack was right there with her and Ella played on the sand. We didn’t stay long because the sun was going down and we had more Shaka to do! We drove up to the breathtaking mountains and got blown away at a look out point which was incredible. We then jetted over to Judd Trail and enjoyed a quick easy hike to a waterfall and bamboo forest. Thankfully, we were all feeling good by the end of the day. Sheesh. Don’t ever take your good health for granted!

Jack found a coconut and had fun with Parker and Tanner cracking it open when we got home and were getting ready for bed. We are 100% on Hawaii time now and it’s going to be a real shock going home. I wish we had another week (or month) in Hawaii! It’s been so wonderful!
