Rhode Island is Incredible! The Ocean State! Who knew?

First of all, we got a couch on Saturday!!! Yay! It's a sleeper couch too! And it looks brand new! But it smells like really old man. So tanner sprayed it with cologne. Now it smells like an old man wearing cologne. Ha ha. Anyhoo after we got the couch we left for Holly's house!

It took us about 7 hours- a little longer than usual because of road work, potty breaks, and a rain storm. But we made it safe and sound and that's all that matters. Holly greeted us with an umbrella and showed us into her third story apartment! So cool! Mike came home a few minutes later with the BEST Chinese food I've EVER tasted!! I'm going to have to come back here just for this food! Pineapple fried rice among other stuff that I didn't know. But there was like an egg roll type thing with mint in it! Yum! So fresh and delish! Holly made spider man Mac and cheese JUST for parker! So thoughtful!

After dinner they gave a present to Parker- a Nerf gun! He LOVES it! They have so many cool toys because mike is a game developer (he has created like a dozen board games and they attend game conferences all year and bring home the coolest stuff!) They let Parker be crazy and have fun which was super awesome. Then we sang happy birthday to Parker and ate yummy homemade chocolate cup cakes that holly made from scratch! Oh! It was a great night!

Tanner and mike talked and had fun while holly and I looked through our high school year book and giggled. They are such thoughtful, life long friends and we are very blessed to have them in our lives.

Rhode Island! Who knew??? The ocean state!

On Sunday Holly and Mike took us to Jamestown, Rhode Island to a really historic light house! We walked around the tide pools (and some people slipped and had flashes of being drenched in Atlantic sea water and then had to spend the rest of the day with algae all over the front of her...) Holly found us a really cool star fish! It was awesome walking around the park and reading all the history. There was a small museum and aquarium there as well. Parker didn't want to see the aquarium because he's afraid of crabs and lobsters.... After Beaver Tail Park we went to their friends' house in the country for a BBQ and swimming. It was awesome! We love new England homes!!! We stopped at a fresh fish shack to perhaps buy some to grill but it was a little pricey- maybe post PA school! ;-) We had a super delicious lunch, Parker had a blast playing with all the kids, and we enjoyed the creative conversations with all the musicians/artists/game designers there at the party. We went swimming and had lots of dessert. When the sun went down and the fire flies came out we built a Bon fire and kept the party going. Parker loved riding around on their golf cart but around 9pm he was trashed. So we took off and got snuggled into bed. It was a good day! Love you!
