Surprise Baby!
Don't worry, I was shocked. Like, completely dumb founded. Speechless. Eyes popping out of my head.
I started my period right before we left for San Diego so I was all prepared for it to come again while we were there, but..... it didn't. I didn't think too much of it because I'd only had 2 cycles since I stopped nursing Rayleigh and I know it takes time for these things to settle back down into a normal routine. But, you know me. I'm so curious and if there is a test lying around you'd better believe I'm going to take it.
It was the very night we got back from San Diego, Sunday. Tanner ran to Target with Parker to pick up a few things and I was busy unpacking. When I was putting our toiletries away I noticed a pregnancy test in the drawer and thought, "Why not!" The baby was in the tub so I quickly took the test KNOWING it was negative- I just wanted to make sure I was going to start my period any day. (That's what I was telling myself) When to my utter surprise the test turned positive. I just sat there in shock. I was shaking and totally blown away! It took me a minute to compose myself. I called Tanner to see when he could be back and he was just pulling up. I ran to him and told him he had to see something. He was worried but when I showed him the test he was sooooo happy and thrilled! Parker too! Meanwhile, I was a mess. I was crying and all I could say was, "Another baby? I already HAVE a baby!" This was definitely NOT the plan, but hey, when do kids ever happen according to plan? I called my mom bawling and completely out of sorts. She just laughed at me and said how exciting and perfect and wonderful this all was.
We'd gone to the temple the day before and really, there is no denying this is Heavenly Father's plan for US and this sweet spirit waiting to be born into our family. I've nick named the baby "baby of steel" because I have NO idea how it got there and it's for sure not going anywhere! It's rock solid! So, there you have it folks! We will officially be a family of 5 in April of 2015!
