Christmas Sunday
I think Christmas Sunday is my favorite Sunday of the year. Next would be the primary program and Mother's Day... and Easter! But there is something extra special about Christmas Sunday. I had the kids' outfits saved for a few months and the girls looked soooo cute in their matching Hannah Anderson dresses. I was able to sing with a accapella octet, Silent Night. We actually sounded pretty good (when I listened back to a recording someone took). The music and messages of the Savior's birth never get old. Reminiscing of Christ's birth, his immaculate beginning, and especially the tender love of His parents, it all just makes the heart more pure.
After church, we ate chicken and rice and then headed down to my parent's house for a family nativity. We were all together which made it super special. The kids did such a great job acting out the nativity: Parker was the Roman Soldier, Rayleigh was an angel, Ella was baby Jesus, and Jack was again a sheep in a far off field. Rayleigh was so sweet at the end- she sat down and cradled "baby Jesus". She has such a warm reverence for the Christ Child. We ate yummy food, sang carols around the piano, and opened gifts. Everyone was so joyful and we all had a wonderful time!
