Ella's 3rd Birthday
My baby girl is three years old! I really can’t believe it. She is the cutest little thing. She definitely has an opinion and some sass and she can throw a tantrum with the best of them. I feel like she gets the spunk from being the last child and getting away with more attitude. But she is really such a good girl and makes us all so happy.
We decided to have a family mermaid pool party at our house to celebrate her birthday. When I sent out the invitation, I got a quick RSVP from my mom and Cami and Josi. But I didn’t hear back from Karina or Jon. I was fine with that but I needed to know they were coming to prepare and plan the food. Jon informed me that while he's still nervous about Covid, he would plan to be there. I was nervous about it and felt my Papa so close telling me not to stress- this was Ella‘s special day and I needed to enjoy it and that I shouldn’t worry about Jon. I guess I still have a little PTSD from the way he treated me last year. But, he was very nice and we had a great day.
We spent the morning preparing for her party, food, decorations, cleaning up the yard... By the time everyone arrived, everything was perfect! It was 1,000,000° outside and we try to keep everything in the backyard but it was almost impossible. Some people gathered in the kitchen to chat while the rest hung out at the pool and it made my heart happy to see everyone enjoying themselves so much. The big girl cousins showered Ella with bucket loads of love and attention. My mom gifted Ella a cute book with her name as the title, a stuffed animal and a shirt. Jon brought her a Barbie house with which she was thrilled! Tanner BBQed some yummy chicken! He worked so hard sweating through half a dozen shirts.
Everyone was excited about Ella’s phenomenal mermaid cake. It was definitely the highlight! We sang to Ella and she took a few tries to blow out her candle and it was the sweetest thing ever. She was so tried half way through her party- she kept asking to go to bed. Lil' darling.
The next day, we took things slow- cleaning up and catching up on things while also trying to rest and relax. We didn’t do church until 6pm but it was nice and we had a really great family movie night. We always look forward to movie night.
We had chicken n rice and left over birthday cake and Ella opened all of her presents. I got her lots of books, a bubble machine, a cool microphone (why? My kids are loud enough! But she DOES love to sing and dance. All day. Everyday) and a Melissa and Doug ice cream stand.
Ella’s official birthday is tomorrow but we’ve done a lot of celebrating already. I’m so very thankful for my Ella Bella. She is the sunshine to my soul. She is my bestest little friend and we have a great bond. She is sweet and happy and such a good girl. She makes our family completely and I’m so lucky she’s mine!
