Mom's Italian Themed 75th Birthday Celebration
We had one week before school starts again and I thought that it would be pretty chill. We didn’t have much planned and I was excited for a week of rest and relaxation and a chance to catch up before the busyness of a new school year started. I was finally able to send Ella to school with some birthday goodie bags to share with her classmates. She was so excited to hand them out and loves school so much. I am so grateful for Miss Danielle! She is the best!
On Wednesday night I had book club. I always look forward to these gatherings and discussions. This month was held at Anne‘s house and she fed us yummy food from her garden. I’ve read over 50 books this year! And even though we tried to keep this week low key, with Parker teaching swim lessons and Ella going to school, we didn’t have a whole lot of down time.

But Thursday was the day we were all waiting for! It was my mom’s 75th birthday and we planned in Italian themed sunset Duffy boat ride in Newport Harbor! Tanner was able to come with me which was a huge help and we drove down to Newport together and picked up food from Mama D’s. Parker baked chocolate cupcakes and I brought a microphone and the Polaroid camera and everything we could think of to make the evening go smoothly. I picked up some Italian sodas and some cream to make yummy drinks. My mom and dad, Cami, Jon Cami, Josi all came and we had the best time out on the water! The food was so good and we laughed and talked while we watch the sunset. It was a night that we all enjoyed and I know we won’t soon forget.
It was fun to celebrate my mom – she is a remarkable woman, my best friend, and although it wasn’t the real Italy, it was fun to plan her birthday with a theme that is near and dear to both of our hearts. Our trip to Italy when I was 17 is a memory I cherish! My mom is the best adventure buddy and we always have a great time together whatever we do. I love our hours long chats and our gospel connection. She stayed pretty separated from the world during this quarantine so it was extra exciting to get out in a unique way.
Happy birthday Mama! I love you!!!

One night after bath time, Ella fell asleep on the floor and didn't wake up until morning! Don't worry, we got her in her Pjs and put her to bed. But man, she was tired!
