Parker and I had the pleasure and honor of spending the day with Kim and Kayla today. We had an absolutely great time! A few days ago we thought of a bunch of activities we could do to jam pack our day together with fun! It was a sunny, warm day and we enjoyed most of it outside.
Shortly after the girls arrived we walked down to the park. We played there for a little while- it was too hot! Even the sand was hot! So we walked home and looked at every flower along the way. :-) We filled up the pool and plugged the hose into the Nemo sprinkler for an afternoon splashing around the backyard. The kids LOVED it! I made the kids a yummy lunch- noodles and berries and carrots and juice with a chocolate covered banana for dessert- which we ate outside as well. Kayla wasn't feeling too well but luckily Nana was here and was able to rock-a-bye her to sleep. She had a great nap! Meanwhile the kids played MORE outside! We bounced balls, colored, finger painted, blew bubbles, and designed cool shapes with play dough.
After a while we came inside for a little rest. We watched Winnie the Pooh and ate some chips and drank ice water. When the movie was over we made fruit pizza! Yum! Then it was BACK outside for more fun in the sun!
It's so special to me to see how well these two cousins get along. Sure, sometimes they act more like brother and sister than best friends but they have a tremendous love and respect for each other already and I think that's pretty unique. Kim and Kayla are sensational little girls and I LOVE that I'm their Aunie chan! (or "San"- that's how Kimmie says my name) :-) it sure does pull at my heart strings when we have to say goodbye. Kim's like me and hates to part ways. The good news is that there's always another fun day tomorrow and even better- we will be together forever. I'm so grateful for that.
Tonight, Dad took us to Olive Garden for dinner. Can't beat them bread sticks! Ha ha I felt bad when tanner called and could hear the hustle and bustle of a restaurant in the background. We are foodies and love a night out to dinner. I promise to cook the most amazing dinners for you every night honey!!!! Miss you so much!!!!
Love you!!!
